Transcription: Hi, and welcome to episode 52 of Self-care for Educators. I'm your host, Tina Boogren. This week's a little bit different, because rather than giving you a specific invitation, I want to just say thank you and give you some updates.

So, first of all, this officially marks one year since the launch of this podcast, which is just incredible to me. This was a bucket list item for sure. And, the fact that we got this up and going is a credit to Brooke for helping with all the scary parts, all the things that were keeping me ... The tech pieces that were keeping me from doing this ...

And, credit to all of you for listening. I, it was just an experiment. I was gonna do a couple episodes, see if anyone was interested and you were, and for that, I'm so grateful. And, to watch the numbers, to recognize the fact that you came back each week, and you shared the podcast with others just fills my heart with such gratitude. I just can hardly put it into words. And so, first and foremost, just thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. And then second, I have a little announcement.

So, it is summer. I want us to really sink into summer. And so, I'm going to take a little hiatus from the pod. I want you to go, just have self care be the feel good kind of self care, right? The treat-your-self kind of self care, or just sink into the summer, and then I'll be back. I'll be back in the fall to help navigate us into the new school year reminding you of self-care and some of the themes we've already visited and add some new things, but let's just take a little collective breath and take a little time.

I'll also be really honest. This is something I just need to do as I try to get my feet back underneath me, moving back into the world of travel, which is just hard for a thousand reasons ... It's awesome. And, it's hard, which makes it harder. And, some of you saw my post over on the Facebook page, that lovely combination of hard and awesome--harsome. And, what I know is when things are hard and awesome, we need boundaries, and we need to really take exquisite care of ourselves. And so, I need to find just a little bit more space.

And so, I'm just going to hit the pause button on the podcast, but I will be back. I am not going anywhere. In fact, when I come back, I'm so excited. 'Cause I have just so much to share with all of you. In fact, as a teaser, some of you know that my friend and colleague Tim Kanold, and I are launching a new solution over on Solution Tree called Wellness Solutions for Educators. And, I could not be more excited. You are going to love it. We've got a book associated with that coming out in September. So, we're working hard on that. We are getting all the pieces in place so that we can support you and your entire staff next year. I just can't wait. I'm so excited. So, stay tuned for that.

I've just got ... I've got quite a few, quite a few new things that I'm just thrilled to share with you. And so, that's going to be really what I'm going to be working on between now and the fall to make sure that we've got, we've got all those pieces in place. So, in the meantime, I want you to go enjoy yourself. Put that summer bucket list into place. Allow yourself to really, really, really let go. Oh, this is the feel good self care. This is when you, when you have ice cream for dinner, when you stay up too late talking and laughing and giggling with your best friend. This is when you sleep, and you don't use the alarm clock.

And I know, I know you still have responsibilities and I know educators work in the summer, but as much as you can to allow yourself to really regroup, you had a hard year, and your body needs time to just find its balance again. And, quite honestly, we're going to need to be at our peak to really enter into the next school year.

So, allow yourself to just be this summer without guilt. Without guilt, take exquisite care of yourself. Get some habits and routines in place summer to set you up for next year. Drink, drink all the stupid water, get your sleep and just, just enjoy. Tend to those relationships and know that I'm cheering for you. I cannot wait. If you just keep an eye out over on the Facebook page, I will still stay active over there for sure. That's like my happy place. And, I'll let you know when you can expect the comeback episode. But, it'll be a few weeks. So, allow yourself just to go enjoy and play, but don't forget about me, 'cause I'm certainly not going to forget about that.

As always, a huge thank you to Brooke for making this happen. Oh, thank you to Solution Tree and Marzano Resources for supporting me in this work that I believe in with my whole soul. And, thank you to you--my bad-ass Self-Care Squad. I'm so grateful for you. I'm sending you a huge hug and cheering so hard for you.

Enjoy your summer, and I will be back in the fall.
